Email me or send me a message through the enquiry form, to briefly outline what your idea is, who the book is for, and when you will need the finished product by. Do bear in mind that these books are not created overnight - you should allow for time for interviews, information gathering, writing, checking, printing, binding and shipping.

The whole process from beginning to end can take up to eight weeks in total. 

If you are on a tighter schedule, and that significant event is looming, then please still get in touch - if it's possible, I'll make it happen!

I give you a quick call to discuss ideas. 

Then, I'll send you a questionnaire to fill out and return to me - this will touch on basic information such as names, birthdates, people to be included in the book, timeframes, and a few other simple questions.

For larger groups, you will be required to nominate a spokesperson - someone who will distribute my questions and collecting information from the other group members. Pick your most organised sibling, or on-to-it friend, and send them my way.

Once I've received the completed questionnaire, we will have our first interview. This can be done over the phone, via Skype, or - if you're lucky enough to live in our beautiful capital city - can be done in person.

The interview process is really important - it allows us to bounce ideas off each other, to figure out what information to use, and to essentially find the heart and soul of the project.

It's at this point that you'll be required to pay a 50% deposit on your book. Payments will need to be made in the form of a bank transfer.


And then...

I write your story. 

Once I have all the words on the page, I'll send them to you for your comments, changes, suggestions and approval. Don't be shy to tell me if something isn't perfect - as I've said before, this is your world. Your story. The most important thing to me is getting it right. 

Throughout the writing process, I may need additional information from you. If this is the case, I will check back in from time to time. 

Once I have your approval on the words, I will begin the design process. We will decide on a title, a subtitle and a cover design. You'll be asked to do one final check before your book is lovingly handed over to my printer and binder. 

It's at this point that you'll need to pay the closing balance.

Once the book is back in my hot little hands, I will send it to wherever it needs to go.

The book is now yours. You gift it to the person you love. They love it.
You feel really, really good about it.
